Proposal Summary
Following the approval of RIP00015, we are now entering the election process for the RealToken Security Committee members.
This proposal therefore aims to validate the voting process.
The process will take place in two distinct phases with a final On-chain Vote.
- Phase 1: Application process and pre-selection (handled by RealT for privacy reasons)
- Phase 2: Debates and Election (public debates submitted to DAO's approbation by an On-chain Vote)
<!--By voting for this proposal, you confirm acceptance of the outlined terms and conditions.-->
Note: The English version of this document serves as the only authoritative reference.
Motivation
Establish a transparent and fair process for selecting the RealToken DAO's Security Committee Members in accordance with the criteria established in RIP00015.
Detailed Specifications
Phase 1 - Application Process and Pre-selection
RealT will be responsible for the technical verifications of applications to ensure candidates meet all criteria established in RIP00015.
As a DAO partner, RealT acts as a trusted party for this proposal to preserve the confidentiality of candidates who are free to disclose or withhold private information.
1. Announcement
The opening of the application process will be announced on Telegram, Discord, and via a dedicated topic on the DAO forum.
2. Application Submissions (2 weeks):
Candidates have 2 weeks from the Announcement to make themselves known by completing a Google Form form providing the required information (details below) to validate their candidacy.
The candidate MUST ensure they satisfy all the requirements for candidacy as specified in the RIP00015 by the end of the Application Submissions period.
As explained in the RIP00015, the candidates MUST lock between 250 and 1,000 REGs as a security deposit at application time.
These REGs are locked into the Security Committee Safe.
If an incentive period is ongoing, the candidates may choose to use all or part of their Incentive Vault deposit as that security deposit.
3. Eligibility Check (1 week):
Note:
- At the start of this period, the Google Form form is closed.
- No new applications will be accepted.
RealT has 1 week to verify technical eligibility criteria (KYC, REGs deposit in the Security Committee Safe, possession of the required NFT).
At the end of that period, the list of candidates is published on the forum, specifying if they were accepted or rejected.
The rejection reasons (without details) will be specified in that latter case.
Phase 2 - Debates and Election
4. Community Debate (2 weeks):
The Accepted Candidates have 2 weeks for open debates with the community.
They are granted the “candidate” role on the governance forum
They MUST open a presentation post in the forum candidate debate space:
The candidates' posts MUST be written in English.
The candidate's mother tongue MAY be used in the 2nd post for better understanding.
The candidates present themselves and explain how they meet the criteria for this position (including and notably their competencies and awareness of the Web3 threats and security issues).
This post is used as a free debate space between the candidate and the community.
5. Voting (1× or 2× 2 weeks):
As defined in the RIP00015:
(a) If there are 10 candidates or fewer, a single On-chain Vote approves all candidates.
(b) If there are more than 10 candidates or if the global approval (a) is rejected, one On-chain Vote will occur per candidate. The 10 candidates with the most "yes" votes are elected. Draw disputes will be resolved by already-elected members.
1 week is reserved for drafting the proposal.
And 1 week for the effective vote on Tally.
5. Committee Formation (up to 2 weeks):
- The list of elected members is published.
- They gain access to a private communication channel.
- RealT organizes training sessions within two weeks to ensure the Security Committee is fully operational at the end of that period.
Roadmap
